Local work. Reviewed evidence. A useful handoff.

For the engineer doing the work

The visit should end
with more than scattered notes.

An unfamiliar environment, a technical problem and a handoff to finish. FIELDKIT brings the collection and documentation stages closer together.

01 / Discover the environment

Establish what is there.

Collect network and system observations within the scope you are authorized to inspect. Keep those observations connected to the site and the work—not scattered across unrelated files.

02 / Investigate the problem

Bring the findings together.

Use diagnostic information and switch-port tracing to inform the investigation. Retain the difference between a confirmed finding, an unanswered check and an engineer’s interpretation.

03 / Finish the handoff

Leave something usable.

Signed offline captures and client-ready PDF and Word reporting support a documented handoff. Review the evidence, add the context and make the remaining work understandable.

Standalone by design

A field tool.
Not a subscription gate.

Start with the local toolkit. A TAHAI account, portal subscription or mandatory cloud connection is not required for its core local workflows.

FIELDKIT and IT Docs are different products.

FIELDKIT is the Windows tool for onsite discovery, diagnostics and reviewed evidence. TAHAI IT Docs is the documentation platform for maintained records, procedures and approved client-facing material.

Use FIELDKIT on its own. Explore IT Docs when you need a governed home for operational documentation. Downloading FIELDKIT does not require purchasing an IT Docs plan.

Direct companion upload and portal capture import are not promised by this page. Portal services retain their own authorization and billing.

A better workflow after collection

A capture is the beginning.
The handoff is the result.

The documentation guide connects ticket history, current system records and repeatable procedures. It includes a template you can use with your existing tools.

Use the method.

Read IT Documentation That Survives the Ticket for a practical record structure, an illustrative diagnostic case, verification steps and a reusable runbook template.

Put the engineering to work.

Need documentation organized, an operational workflow implemented or a defined technical problem resolved? Discuss a project with Justin. Scope, access, deliverables and pricing are agreed before work begins.

Release and practical questions

Clear about what
you are getting.

Is FIELDKIT free? Do I need an IT Docs plan?

FIELDKIT is listed as a free Windows application. The standalone local toolkit does not require a TAHAI subscription. Paid online products, custom implementation and engineering services are separate.

Open the Microsoft Store listing for the current package and applicable Store terms.

Is the Microsoft Store release the same as general availability?

No. Store distribution is a meaningful release milestone, not a statement that every final qualification gate is complete. FIELDKIT remains in final qualification toward general availability, as described in the launch announcement.

Development features may be ahead of the installed package. This page does not advertise a particular application version, claim compatibility with every device, or present planned LINKTRACE functionality as verified Store functionality.

Does FIELDKIT need the cloud for local work?

Its core local workflows do not require a mandatory cloud connection or TAHAI login. Installing or updating through the Microsoft Store and opening online reference material are separate activities that require connectivity.

Collected material still needs appropriate storage, access control and review before you share it.

What should I check before using it onsite?

Confirm the current Store requirements, your organization's approval, the scope of the work and the permitted network targets. Test the workflows you plan to use in a suitable environment before relying on them for a client visit.

Use only on systems and networks you own or are authorized to inspect. A useful diagnostic tool is not permission to change someone else’s environment.

Where do I send questions, issues or feature requests?

Email [email protected]. Include the FIELDKIT version, Windows version, the workflow involved and the result you expected. Do not send passwords, tokens or unredacted client captures in an initial email.

For scoped documentation or engineering work, use the project enquiry route.
